Nancy Bright
Instructor

It would be hard to exaggerate how passionately Nancy believes in the power of Pilates to maintain healthy bodies and heal injured ones! For her, 20 years of teaching and 25 years of practice vividly demonstrate the sheer brilliance of Joseph Pilates’ impressive body of work.
After twelve years as a competitive swimmer and decades of running, Nancy found the Pilates mat work in 1999 which healed her achy knees! For five years she advanced through the mat levels and then onto the various pieces of the Pilates equipment. Logically, the next step was teacher training which she completed in 2007 through the Core Dynamics comprehensive training. Always looking to go deeper to be a better teacher and student exposed her to more teaching programs and multitudes of workshops on wide variety of subjects related to the study of the body, movement and human anatomy. Most recently she completed Pilates for Neurological Conditions with Mariska Breland at the Neuro Studio in Washington, DC. She is a perpetual and curious student and especially loves learning from her students!
Nancy’s ability to customize and adapt to each client and their specific needs is evident each time she teaches. Her goal is for every client to feel and move better after each session and in their daily lives.
Movement does indeed heal and is necessary for our health. Pilates is the perfect and efficient movement. As Joe Pilates said, “Health is the first prerequisite to happiness”.
