Viktoriya Overby
Instructor

Vika, born and raised in Ukraine, began practicing Pilates in 2011 when her chiropractor recommended Pilates classes to strengthen her back muscles and “core” to relieve recurring back pain.
Vika began her first Pilates training with Balanced Body back in 2012 and continued deepening her knowledge and improving her teaching skills while living in Ukraine, the US, Russia, Mexico and Kazakhstan. Her classical Pilates journey started in 2015 in Mexico City after she took a seminar led by Brett Howard, Senior Teacher of Teachers and Director of Education for Classical Pilates. She was immediately hooked on the precision and focus on detail of the classical Pilates method. In 2018 Vika completed over 600 hours of intensive training at The Pilates Loft in Arlington with Alia Staples, Teacher of Teachers for Classical Pilates; Jennifer O’Mara, Teacher of Teachers for Classical Pilates; and Brett Howard, Senior Teacher of Teachers and Director of Education for Classical Pilates. In 2021 Vika finished a Pilates Master Mentor Program with Lolita San Miguel and received the designation of a second-generation Pilates teacher and Lolita San Miguel Pilates Master.
Outside of Pilates, Vika holds an M.A. in English Teaching and Linguistics. She worked as an ESL instructor for many years.
Vika understands how important it is to find a unique approach for every client to help them reach their fitness goals. What inspires her the most is watching her students’ progress.
